Maybe I was a bit confused. Sometimes I can't think straight. Especially
after long hard days!

Annabelle,

Alt+F2 opens the list of system items. There's nothing in this list that
will help you change the staff names. I think you mean Ctrl+F1, which opens
the Sibelius Access options list. One of these is staff names and it opens
the dialog that you described.

One way I've found is easy. Go to System Items by pressing Alt+F2. Down
Arrow until you hear Staff Names. Press enter, then go to whichever staff
you want to change the name. In the edit fields marked full instrument name
and short instrument name, type the desired name you want to have, then tab
over till you hear "Change Button". Press the spacebar or enter, and voila!

Dave,
I don't need to make a copy. I need to change the instrument name
because there are two staves marked Trumpet 3 and I need one of those to say
trumpet 4. How to do that?
K.

Kevin,

Press I to open the instruments list. You should be able to tab to the
Trumpet 3 in the list of staves. Then tab up and you should find something
that allows you to make a copy of that stave under the existing one. If I'm
wrong, then sorry -- I'm just guessing at this point.

If that doesn't work then you should be able to insert a new staff and
assign it to a Bb Trumpet. Then use your system list in Sib-Access to
highlight the instrument name and change to Trumpet 4.

Hope this triggers ideas.

Dave

Guys,
A friend made me an orchestral score manuscript paper but put two
Trumpet 3 in B Flat staves. I need to change one of these to Trumpet 4 in B
Flat. How do I make thtis change? Kevin If you wish to unsubscribe, send a
