Dear all,

as you all know, I had a few technical problems recently but I'm now up and
running again. All it took was a new hard drive and a full windows install
from scratch.

One of the first problems I encountered was in not being able to log on to
my pop3 email server. Things started to get rapidly worse from there and I
eventually determined that the cause was a failing hard drive. Fortunately,
I'm rather fussy about back-ups so, nothing of import was lost.

It's going to take me a while to trawl through the backlog of messages but
I'll reply to anything which hasn't been covered in other peoples replies.
In the mean time I ask for your patience.

I know that you're all wondering about the next beta version. I was
estimating that it would take about a week to finish beta 2 before my system
went down. Unfortunately things are a little busier with Christmas coming
up and it will take a day or too to get my head back in the game. I'd like
to get something out in time for the new year but I can't make any promises
so please don't get you're hopes up too much.

One thing which I will be doing over the next few days is giving the website
a full make over. Most of the pages are already written so it's just a
question of proof-reading and uploading them.

It might seem strange to make the website a higher priority than the scripts
themselves but we've received several support enquiries which could have
been covered in a more detailed set of pages. I'll be including a list of
minimum requirements, a list of contributors, a brief overview of what
Sibelius can do and I'll put the guide up as an on-line resource.

I'm only working on the documentation for beta 2 which is significantly more
detailed than that for beta 1. I'll put the beta guide on-line when beta 2
is released. There's no point in doing it before then because there are a
large number of small changes to JAWS messages which will cause confusion.
