Score Position Preferences Kevin, One of these days I've got to get Sib 6 set up so that it plays. I haven't figured out how to make it work. Very strange. Sib 5 is fine, and I have different configurations for my hardware synths and the Sound Essentials soft synths. But not for Sib 6. Strange. Score Position Preferences As I said on FB today. Sib 6 has far better sounds with GPO4 and those sounds inspire great ideas. However, Sib 5 is navigable. It's really a mesed up world. Score Position Preferences Kevin, Yes, I recall that it was the one that wasn't checked. As for Sib 6, even though I checked it, the only way I can do editing there is to select all the score, and then filter to the item I want. Then hope and press Enter to see what I got. Usually works, but Sib-Access is so nice to have in Sib 5. Score Position Preferences The centered one is the only one that isn't checked by default in Sib 6. I'll check to see how things are in Sib 5. Score Position Preferences I don't know if I'm the only one who's been suffering this all along, but no doubt. But just in case, I stumbled across something that made editing of staff and system text much less problematic. Dan, if you've told me this before, then mea culpa. Okay, I've been beset with numerous occasions where I get that infernal message "There is something selected which is not in view. Do you want to insert your xxx next to this?" and I always answer "yes". I've also noticed that I have to continually fiddle with the zoom level (between 25% and 150% just to get the text item to open for editing, when hitting the Enter key. I think I found out that this was due to the selection/cursor being close to the edge of the display. I went into the following dialog in the File/Preferences menu, and in the Score Position page set the following items: Score Position During Input and Editing Follow selection - checked During note input, follow caret - checked Center selection - checked Avoid tool windows - checked View whole width of system - checked View whole height of system - checked After setting all these, I no longer got that Item next to" message and was able to open any text item, system or staff, at the zoom level I was in (which in my case I keep at 62.5%). I think the root cause of my pain was the "centered" one. It sort of makes sense. It's wonderful, editing now. Gotta go and write some chords...
