[SI-LIST] sin(x)/x interpolation

Hi all,
   
  I wonder why digital oscilloscopes use sin(x)/x interpolation but not other 
interpolation approach?
Could anyone tell me how sin(x)/x interpolation works or show me some documents 
on this?
