Hello Tina, hello Bill,
what you describe is trying to trick the physics a little bit (as
there is no determined Zo without a ground plane) - I made as
well the experience that this may (but not must !!!) model reality
rather OK for getting an idea of the net behaviour.

P.S.: Some other SI tools do add this plane (changable by an
option) automatically when launching the field solver and not
detecting a reference layer ;-)
