Hi all,
I am building a PCB that mainly has a xilinx virtex 2000 {XCV2000E}
Now this is a dual voltage chip, i.e :
it requires:
1) 1.8 volts for core voltage
2) 3.3 volts for I/O's
I guess I will need "two" power planes for the "two" voltages respectively ?
I am using a PC ATX power supply for this purpose . This supply
will connect to a PC ATX connector on my board.
On the board I am generating the 1.8 volt using a voltage regulator.
Now my question is:
Should the power pin of the PC ATX connector connect directly to
the respective power plane by using a VIA ?
--------OR-----------
Is it alright if the trace from this power pin first passes through
a header part before going to the power plane ( again using a VIA) ?
please do reply with your comments/suggestions ;I'd really appreciate any
feedback.
thanks a lot
Anand Kulkarni
