their companies may be interested in the hardware at this level of
affordability.

Jane:
First, from your SI_LIST E-mail, I assume you mean the SF Bay area (I'm
located in Santa Clara, CA).
Assuming I am correct, what type(s) of scan(s) are you referring to?
If you or your company need frequent in-house scans of electromagnetic
emissions in either the near field or the far field or both, I have a complete
set
of top-of-the-line hardware in perfect shape that I have used in my personal
consulting business for the last few years that you may be interested in. I
have just retired from my consulting business (Mikon Consulting) and am in the
process of liquidating my laboratory equipment. I plan to sell the equipment
for about 33% of the original cost, even though most of the gear has only
been used 10-15 times. None of the equipment has been used for more than the
equivalent of two weeks service at a typical EMI test lab. In other words, it
is all virtually brand new (but not this years models). Original cost was
~$40,000, willing to sell for ~$15,000. The entire cost of this system would
likely be paid for by only a few on-site field scans by an outside service
(you
must assess your needs and allowable costs in this regard).
The system includes an HP Spectrum Analyzer (8594 EM) with optional
precision frequency source, IEEE interface, programming and recording magnetic
cards,
multiple HP and EMCO RF probes, multiple EMCO antennas (most are passive
antennas, plus an active, battery-powered, magnetic field antenna), and a
non-magnetic mounting tripod, all with foam-lined travel cases. The cases alone
cost ~$800. All antenna calibratons are already loaded onto the magnetic
recording cards, along with FCC-A, FCC-B, CISPR-A, and CISPR-B setups so setups
for
frequency range, resolution, bandwidths, sweep rates, and testing is nearly
automatic. Of course, all manuals and calibration data is also included.
If you are interested, please E-mail me directly at _MikonCons@xxxxxxxx
