Giancarlo,
I think good simulators should have the following merits:
1. accuracy; 2. fast run time; 3. convenience; 4. flexibility; 5. low cost
in saving real material for experiments
Simulators might not match the real in practice perfectly. I understand that
for some complex structure, many simulators just give unsatisfied results or
end up with failure. However, it can certainly give us directions before we
consume the real components/materials. As long as we can improve the
accuracy and running speed of the simulator, as well as reduce the cost, the
simulators
will save us plenty of time and real material.
