[SI-LIST] Re: Using general purpose computer tools to solve SI problems

We've used Excel for the mundane task of formatting and massaging
board-level BOMs for quite some time. Only drawback is an undocumented =
limit
to the number of characters (near as I can tell) in an Excel cell.

With several very large boards where we had more than 800 of one type of
bypass cap, Excel chose to truncate the reference designator list =
without
warning. We had to break them down to multiple columns to get them all =
to
fit.
