Kim,
I shall respond to your inquiry in 2 parts:
(a) "Does anyone have experience with adapting MLM models for use with
actual simulation tools like SpecctraQuest?"
[Samtec provides models (SLM and MLM) for our connectors in Cadence DML
format, which is used by Cadence SPECCTRAQuest SigXp. Contact me directly
to discuss or visit our website to download an example model].
(b) "...Ideally, I'd like to know if there's a way to reduce this to
first-neighbor interactions only (all neighbor interactions are considered
in this model).
I appreciate any help, pointers. Even hearing "it can't be done" would help
(I wouldn't waste time on it then)."
[I don't think you are at a point to say "it can't be done". Again, contact
me directly to discuss if you so desire...]

Subject: [SI-LIST] Using MLM connector models...
Does anyone have experience with adapting MLM
models for use with actual simulation tools like
SpecctraQuest?
In particular, I have an MLM model that appears
to be a PEEQ model (Partial Element Equivalent Circuit
Model). It models a 4 x 6 grid of a socket. Ideally, I'd like
to know if there's a way to reduce this to first-neighbor
interactions only (all neighbor interactions are considered
in this model).
I appreciate any help, pointers. Even hearing "it can't be done"
would help (I wouldn't waste time on it then).
