How does the signal propagate? It is the Transverse EM waves propagating
in the dielectric along the TLine, and the "energy" I speak of is carried
via these waves so yes EM wave theory applies. The reflection coeffecient
still holds valid.

Can we use EM wave theory to explain this phenomena, i.e.
part of EM wave will be reflected when it reachs the discontinue
dielectric matrial ?
