In the past I have taught this as part of an SI gradate course at the Oregon
Graduate Institute. You can find the course materials here:
http://home.comcast.net/~howard.heck/
Module 4 covers timing basics. The specific material that describes the phase
relationship between data and strobe (source synchronous timing) is:
http://home.comcast.net/~howard.heck/4-3.ppt
I should mention that the material uses terminology that is somewhat specific
to the Frontside Bus that Intel microprocessors use. DDR uses different
terminology, but the concepts are the same. Feel free to make use of it if you
find it helpful.
Also, it is covered in
http://www.amazon.com/High-Speed-Digital-System-Design-Interconnect/dp/0471360902/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1243531289&sr=8-1
As mentioned, Greg Edlund's book also does a nice job of explaining it without
using all of the equations that I used in the above materials.
Regards,
hh
