Oh, yeah. One thing I tell all the students: All measurements lie.
You have to know what conditions make that likely and what to look out for.
Usually I just let the students VOM check a 100k or larger resistor.
They ALL hold the resistor leads to the VOM probes by hand.
That provides an opening for understanding. Sometimes it even "takes".
