You are asking the right question: What models are supported by the tool?
Be wary. "BSIM4" in HSPICE has different parameters (both values AND
names!) than "BSIM4" in PSpice than .... As a general rule, models are not
portable across SPICE flavors (not even the capacitor model!).
As you can see, it is not just the name of the model that you need to check.
Good luck.

Subject: [SI-LIST] Spice recommendation
Looking for recommendations on a good overall Spice package for SMPS design
and general mixed analog/digital simulations. By good I mean nice (and
useful) feature set, flexible in what vendor models it can use, help with
convergence problems, and easy to use.
I'm primarily looking at PSpice from Cadence and ICAP/4 (Windows or
Professional) from Intusoft. They're in the same general $3K-$5K price
range, but I've had no luck finding any unbiased comparisons or evaluations
of the two packages, or really of any Spice package. Only marketing fluff
from the vendors themselves. Yes, I could and will eval the products, but
would like to hear from others who have really run them through their paces.
I'm pretty much a Spice newbie and can never get LTSpice to do what I want.
I'm ready to invest time and money in a tool I can get some real work done
with instead of having to outsource it.
Thanks,
Bob S.
