[SI-LIST] Re: S-parameter

Hi,
As I know Tyco connector is scalable, which means different size connctor
will has different numer of pairs.

If you are having the same type model, while only different size, that is
ok. Teh S parameter model are periodical if you referring to the
crosssection.Therefroe 4 signal pairs model can eb used to do mcuh
simaultion either in Frequency or timd domain.
Before applying the model in the simualiton, refer to a data sheet to know
which port in the model is for whcih pins accordingly.
Fianlly in time domain, the model from Tyco, all the ports are treated as
single-ended. Of course, you can converted them into differential to study
the performace in frequency.

One more thing, the most critical thing in your backplane is the vias with
long stub, not the connector itself. And the via models in both backplane
and daughter cards need to be modeled by your self, which is the key player
in the whole backpalne channel.

Good luck,
Kinger
