Job Description: 

We are
seeking an electrical engineer to design, analyze and evaluate building
integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) modules and systems for residential and
commercial solar arrays.  This is a
hands-on position that requires a demonstrated history of design, debug, test
qualification, regulatory compliance and production readiness. The successful
candidate will possess the ability to design and engineer solar interconnect
system; assure building code compliance and electrical system reliability.  
Additional competencies include: effectively
work in a visible, fast paced, multidisciplinary team environment and is
capable of working with multiple organizations including outside companies,
agencies and laboratories to achieve goals. 
The successful candidate must also be able to manage multiple priorities
effectively and have proven decision-making skills. Excellent communication,
documentation, and customer service skills are a top priority.  

   

Key Job Responsibilities 

1.       
Electrical
system design, performance analysis and evaluation of residential and
commercial photovoltaic modules and arrays. 

2.       
Identify
electrical system requirements and components necessary to meet electrical code
compliance, ensuring BIPV systems meet the highest safety, environmental and
regulatory standards. 

3.       
Knowledge
and/or experience in electrical interconnect design, reliability testing and
specification 

4.       
Develop
and implement electrical reliability testing plan for BIPV modules and systems 

5.       
Conduct/oversee
testing, verification, corrective actions and commissioning of BIPV modules and
systems 

6.       
Provide
engineering support to field installation team and subcontractors as
appropriate 

7.       
Monitoring
products in use so as to improve on future design. 

8.       
Preparing
product documentation, detailed electrical system designs, writing reports and
giving presentations. 

   

Desired Qualifications: 

·        
BS,
MS or Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering  

·        
Minimum
3 years experience in related field 

·        
Knowledge
of photovoltaic power systems, maintenance, diagnostic and troubleshooting
techniques 

·        
Understanding
of the engineering documents associated with electrical systems  

·        
Understanding
of electrical codes, governing body standards and regulations (NEC, IBS, IEEE
etc.) and industry trends. 

·        
Knowledge
and/or experience in photovoltaic cell and module testing and reliability
analysis 

Experience
with electronic circuits, knowledge of PV inverters.
