[SI-LIST] SSTL-2 question

Experts:

I have two simple questions regarding DDR SSTL-2
interface:

a) Does series termination help manage skew b/w data
and strobe lines ?

b) Can i live without the series resistor if i don't
have too much of overshoot/undershoot ? Don't tell me
that the spec says that.
