[SI-LIST] Re: {SI-LIST] help SGMII

Raja,

CISCO has a spec. on the SGMII. I am sure you can download it from their
website/ftp site. A brief description (Broadcom implementation) is as...

The SGMII interface uses two data signals, and one clock signal to convey
frame data and link rate information between PHY and an Ethernet MAC. The
data signals operate at 1.25 Gbaud, and the clocks operate at 625 MHz Double
Data Rate (DDR) interface. Each of these signals is realized as a
differential pair due to the speed of operation, providing signal integrity
while minimizing system noise. The SGMII signals use LVDS voltage levels.
Both the data and clock signals are
DC-balanced, so implementations that meet the AC parameters but fail to meet
the DC parameters can be AC-coupled.

thanks,
Ghazzali Majeed
