[SI-LIST] Re: SI software for Cadence

Here's my 2 cents with respect to other Mentor tools:

XTK has an interface with Allegro. You can translate the brd file. Strong
point of XTK is the partial/no plane support.

Interconnectix (ICX) also has an interface with Allegro. ICX is often used
by telecom designers because of its analysis driven high speed routing
capabilities. It is also well integrated with Tau (timing analysis). You can
import a SDF into ICX.

Both tools can deal with partial placed/no route/partial routed boards.

Wilco

Subject: [SI-LIST] SI software for Cadence

Hi all

We are in the telecommonunication indistry. What are people using for SI=
=20when they have Cadence Allegro as the layout package? (I'm referring =
to both SI and powerplane analysis.)
I have so far narrowed it down to (in rough order)
=20- SpecctraQuest
=20- Sigrity
=20- HyperLynz (GHz option)
=20- Ansoft
=20- Mentor tools?

Any success stories or sob stories would be appreciated !

Cheers,
Richard
