From: PYHTILA,JOHN (HP-Cupertino,ex1) > I am looking for a tool to give standard value resistors to use when = one > wants a certain ratio between two resistors. John, Funny coincidence ... I needed exactly that while trying to optimize component values for a design. Couldn't find it, so I wrote one. "DividerCalc", as I call it, is restricted to a two resistor divider at = the moment. It takes an input voltage, a desired output voltage and an = output voltage tolerance (% or volts). It then allows you to select the use of = the 5% or 1% resistor value tables for each of the two resistors. You can = also fix either resistor to a desired value (say you want the upper resistor = to be 10K). The program presents a table with every resistor combination = that produces an output voltage within the desired tolerance. The table can = be cut and pasted into Excel for further work. Is this the sort of tool you need? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Martin Euredjian eCinema Systems, Inc. voice: 661-305-9320 fax: 661-775-4876 martin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.ecinemasys.com ------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from si-list: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field or to administer your membership from a web page, go to: //www.freelists.org/webpage/si-list For help: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'help' in the Subject field List archives are viewable at: //www.freelists.org/archives/si-list or at our remote archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/si-list/messages Old (prior to June 6, 2001) list archives are viewable at: http://www.qsl.net/wb6tpu
