Though it is difficult to design an optimum shielded enclosure with so little
information about the contents or the design criteria, you can find some
helpful information at
http://www.cvel.clemson.edu/emc/tutorials/Shielding02/Practical_Shielding.html.
If you want a shielded enclosure that works at high frequencies, then aluminum
is fine. Keeping the size of the enclosure small so that the circuitry fills
the volume will help to damp enclosure resonances and you'll need to pay close
attention to the filtering at all shield penetration points.
Are you sure you need a shielded enclosure? An electric-field shield above the
high-frequency components may be more appropriate. If you need low-frequency
(kHz) magnetic-field shielding, you'll need to use a magnetic material.

Subject: [SI-LIST] RF Shiled
Hi ,
We are designing a Power Amplifier board @ 5.0 Ghz.We want design a shield
for that.
The plan is to space the holes on the shield with spacing less than lambda/20.
How do we ensure that the shield it selves does not become a resonant cavity
at that frequency ?What is the best material used for shield (Aluminum ...etc) ?
Pls point me to any further relevant info in this regards.
regards
