[SI-LIST] Question on chassis ground

Dear All,
Is it mandatory to connect the logic ground in the PCBA to the metal 
chassis enclosure? This is because if we do not connect them together then 
whatever ESD that occurs on the chassis does not affect the logic on 
board? Is this correct?
