I'm just an average engineer, no expert, guru or obe won. I couldn't care
less if you are a monkey or chimpanzee. But at least tell me what company or
where you come from. People should be proud of themselves whether they come
from Bannana Republic or People's Republic.
Don't be a girly man, don't hide in a hotmail or yahoo account and afraid to
tell people your background. Expert or novice we all come here to learn and
share. So tell me something about your background in this area and who do
you work for ?

This is a well balanced prescription covering several types. But, item 2.
discourages controversial questions/points. I hope this is your personal
opinion only and not reflect list opinion. My personal opinion is
controversy (discussion of differing viewpoints) promotes new ideas or at
least fix misconceptions.

Thank you for taking time to explain human aspect of how askers are
perceived and answered. I agree that is the reality.

Expertise of all experts can be fit into a bell curve. At the far end of
the curve, there will be very few experts who are not distracted by login
names. For them, si_diamond is no different from si_monkey. They understand
implications of the question and what is on asker's mind. They have
integrated knowledge and answer to meet asker's viewpoint. They are gurus.
My quest is to find such guru. On this list or some other place.

I appreciate all who contributed to both threads. I learnt much subject and
protocols. My apologies if I hurt feelings in the process (incl this post)
without my knowledge.
