PCB layout and IC package signal troubleshooting
Next Monday, August 2nd, at 9 a.m. Pacific Tme (San Francisco, CA, USA) I am
going to hold a one to one and a half hour (depending on questions and
discussions) WebEx session covering a design troubleshooting method I
developed using pulsed signal injection. This method is capable of finding
PCB layout defects, overly sensitive signals, and other problems that can
cause problems out in the field or compliance testing failures. Many tough
field problems have been solved in a few hours using this method.
Outline of session:
* How the method works
* How to apply the method to PCBs and ICs
* Experimental results
* Examples of field and compliance problems that were solved using this
method
* Discussion and questions
This method has not been published and was developed by myself. I have used
this method for several years now for the benefit of my clients and now I am
making the method widely available.
WebEx is a web based presentation service that has worked on every computer
Ihave tried it on including both Windows and Mac computers. It should also
run on Linux machines that run Java. If there is interest, I will set up a
test session later this week if you want to test your computer and Internet
connection. You will need speakers attached to your computer to hear the
audio (using VoIP within WebEx). You can either type questions in a chat box
or use a microphone connected to your computer to ask questions directly.
If you are interested in attending, reply by email directly to me and I will
give you the registration details. Attendance is limited to 25 people on
separate computers. Arrangements can be made for groups of people in a
conference room to attend using a single computer and projector as well. A
set of slides in pdf format will be sent to those attending.
