[SI-LIST] Re: Power Supply impedance simulations

Hi Cody,
I suggest you to consider also the physical location of the decoupling
capacitors
with respect to the transient current flow to capture the plane
inductance effects.  You may also take a look at a simple software tool
that simulates the power distribution impedance, ChipQuake (TM),  and
includes the effects of parasitic models of decoupling capacitors and
placement on the transient current flow.  If you are interested you can
find more details about ChipQuake and a downloadable user guide at
NoiseCoupling.com website, http://www.noisecoupling.com.

Cosmin

Hi group,

I am simulating decoupling capacitance /power supply impedances in a
spice tool. I am using simple series RLC for my decoupling caps+ via
inductance. My question for the group is how should I model inner-plane
capacitance?

Thanks,
Cody
