Hi all,
Tom you are right- by monitoring I mean to connect it to a continuous
decision circuit....
Steve / Tom,
Can you recommend any passive attenuator and logic series you have had good
experience with
In similar applications.

Input impedance if you mean input R is really not the issue,
you need to
reduce the amount of input C that the monitor has. If your
application is
monitor as in put a scope probe on it and see what is
happening I would
recommend a FET scope probe, one with less than 1 pF input
C. If you mean
by monitoring, connect it continuously to a decision
circuit, then any low C
logic gate will do the trick. And yes a low input C
amplifier will work
also. The key is low C.

Subject: [SI-LIST] Please suggest a way to monitor high
speed busses
Hi all,
In a design I am working on - I need to monitor the High
speed PowerPC bus-
Basically the transaction signals, some address and data.
The basic bus
speed can be 133Mhz or 166MHz.
Can you please suggest a way of monitoring the signals (
digital levels are
ok...) as "non intrusively" as possible- so as not to spoil
the "integrity"
of the bus.
I was thinking in terms of some ultra-high input impedance
buffers.....etc-
however I am open to all suggestions..... even the wildest
:-)
Thanks
Anurag Gupta
