[SI-LIST] Place and Route!!!

Hello,
I was thinking about the Place and Route modules considering SI issues. 

Usually we use to do the pre layout analysis and predict the SI problems and 
post layout analysis with fully placed \ routed boards. I use to see that some 
of the Software vendors are providing on-line features in the place and route 
module. Our management has the strategy that Engineers should not waste their 
time in place and route. Engineer should get involve in SI analysis. 

I want to know the extra benefits that we are going to get, if the Engineer 
starts to do the place and route too. Many of you might be following this 
strategy. Please could you place your comments in this regard.
