Not sure what your generating compliance test waveform means. PCI-E eye
diagram compliance test can be done when PCI-E device is in working, and no
special compliance test waveform needed.
PCI-E device has negotiation process during hardware connection, if
connection can not be setup, the negotiation process will continue, so the
negotiation waveform will interrupt for a while every several seconds. it
may lead to fail to generate eye-diagram.
But If your PCI-E device can work in your system, it means hardware
connection is successful, you can do compliance test. If you still can not
got a valid eye-diagram, please check your scope set up, such as, if
Recovery Clock for Data selected, and appropriate PLL algorithm setup, etc.
