Pat & SI colleagues:
I second that need! It is my belief that this portion of HSPICE had as its
history the old semiconductor characterization chip work that used to
accompany HSPICE simulation as a service. They used the optimization
feature to curve fit the transistor characteristic coefficients to the
transistor theoretical equation models.
I have never seen any adequate documentation to how the feature is used in
general or what its limitation are.
