Dear all,
I have an annoying SI problem. A main IC is connected to a SDRAM. A flash
memory is connected to somewhere between the path. The stub to the flash is
very short (it is not a transmission line). Please see the attcheded file
for clearer view. The problem is non-monotonic happens at the rising and
falling edges of the SDRAM waveform. I tried to change the values of the
series termination resistors at the main IC and SDRAM, so as to match the
characteristic impedance of the transmission line (I also took the output
impedance of the main IC into consideration), but the non-monotonic is
still there.
This is actually an address signal. I believe there should not be a problem
for the circuit to operate, since address line does not depend on the
rising/falling edge to operate (of courese with the assumption that the
addition delay caused by the non-monotonic does not exceed the acceptable
limit). However, I might get the similar problem for control lines in other
cases. Therefore, can any kind souls out there please throw some light on me
on how to get rid of the non-monotonics.
Thank you very much in advance.
