My company (innoveda) supplies SI consulting to our customers as an
"in sourcing" type service (that is, we go there and do it with you) and
also as a complete service type function. The problems listed by other
list members (ie. getting models, liability etc.) are very real and do
complicate things which is why we prefer to augment our customers.
We also find the SI - Route loop is so tight that you need to be working
with the circuit designer and layout engineer on a continuous basis to fix
most problems.
