[SI-LIST] Re: Multimeter or Oscilliscope

The advice you got is correct.  Good multimeters have much more 
resolution than scopes.  Just don't buy a junk one from the auto parts 
store.  Fluke, Agilent, and Keithley all make good instruments that are 
worth the price.  Benchtop 6 1/2 digit multimeters can routinely be had 
for about $1300 - $1700 depending on bells and whistles.  Multimeters 
use multi slope integration methods for self-calibration and 
measurement.  This has a natural tendency to filter out noise.
