According to this site, the average salary of a signal integrity 
engineer in Boston, MA is $105,000/year.  That puts the fully burdened 
cost at about $160K/year or $80/hour.  Since consulting is a specialty, 
if the consultant is at the top of his/her game, you can expect to pay 
2X that.  If the consultant brings his own specific skill set and tools 
or instruments to bear on your problems, then you can expect to pay 4X 
that.  If the contract goes through an agency, then you have to add 
their overhead on the top of the consultant's cost.
