[SI-LIST] Re: Losses - 2.5Gbps on FR4

Hi Dorin

You can do the calculation in a split second! Go to AWR at

http://mwoffice.com

Download the free application TXLINE (they will want to know who you are).

Put in the line parameters and press analyze. You did not say whether it
was microstrip or stripline. For microstrip line 5mil wide, I assumed h=10
mil, 18 micron copper(1/2 oz) I got 13.75 dB loss for 2.5 GHz, which is
rather worse than your simulation. At 1 GHz I got 6.4 dB loss. These
figures are greater for stripline.

Cheers
Geoff
