57036BR - Principal Hardware Engineer - SI

Performs design and development engineering assignments related to
hardware products and systems including development of new products or
updates to existing products. Work will encompass one or more areas of
engineering including signal integrity, power integrity, PCB design,
cable design, or other related fields. General duties include research,
evaluation, development, and application of new high-speed technologies
and methods into products, conducting experiments, developing or
executing project plans, evaluating new high-speed tools and
technologies, and documentation of work and results.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

*       Collaborate with a global team of signal integrity engineers and
other engineering groups in a fast-paced design environment, voluntarily
share information. 
*       Signal integrity design, including SerDes, power, EMI, timing
and interconnect simulations and measurements.
*       PCB stackup designs
*       High speed cable designs
*       Develops solutions to complex signal integrity problems, which
require regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
*       Evaluate new simulation and measurement tools. 
*       Will be expected to set standards and achieve cost targets for
products through proper design choices, component selection and/or
supplier selection.
*       Document work and results, and present to other groups.
*       May require travel to develop skill sets and attend industry
meetings, mostly in state and some out of state travel, for a maximum of
10 days a year.
*       May require international travel which could require a Visa
*       Mentoring junior engineers in SI and EMI processes or
experiments.

SKILLS

*       Self-motivated, result-driven, details oriented. Taking
initiative.
*       Ability to lead. Excellent problem-solving and analytical
skills.
*       Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Good project
management skills.
*       Works well in a challenging environment.
*       Signal integrity and power integrity design experience required.
EMI design experiences a plus.
*       Excellent simulation skills with SPICE and IBIS. Experience
Hspice, and power integrity tools such as PowerSI, SIWave.
*       Expert with one of the 3D EM field solvers, such as CTS
Microwave Studio or Ansoft HFSS.
*       System SI design experience is a must. Understand SI challenges
from PCBs, connectors, cables, and system integrations.
*       Understand transmission line fundamentals, electromagnetic
theory fundamentals and fundamentals of time-domain vs.
frequency-domain.
*       Lab experience with digital sampling oscilloscope, real-time
oscilloscope, TDR and vector network analyzer.
*       Global working experiences is a plus.
*       Intel CPU platform experience is a plus.


Education Required: MS. EE/Physics or equivalent required.
Experience Required: 6 - 10 years.
