I also recall from year's past a book list from Roy Levanthal. It was
broken out into more than 10 categories.

I wonder if he ever updated that? I think this was back in around 2000.

Hi,

As this question comes up periodically on the SI list, I thought it might be
useful to post book reviews, which can orient people to the right book for
them.

During the past couple of years several new books appeared on the market
(was this the result of the downturn so that people had more time to
summarize their thoughts?) and I am going to write few-page reviews of
several of the new and some of the older books. These reviews will be my
personal (and necessarily subjective) assesments on these books. Hopefully
these reviews will help people to get a better understanding of what they
can expect from the various books.

The book reviews will be posted on the http://home.att.net/~istvan.novak/
page later during the year as they become available.
