Hi Supratim,
The DIMM models are usually provided as a kit in a zip file since the
module involves more than one type of ICs some discretes and a routed PCB.
The PCB comes as an .ebd model which can be directly processed by the recent
versions of HSPICE and other automated tools like Allegro PCB SI, HyperLynx,
etc. Some memory vendors also provide the .brd file (for Cadence users) of
the PCB, which makes the life much easier for SI engineers. No matter what
kind of simulation tool you're using, if this is your first encounter with a
DIMM model, you should be aware that its usage is a bit convoluted compared
to other buffer models and I recommend you to contact an FAE of the tool
that may save you precious design time.
