Hello Everybody!
I have learnt the following lessons, when it comes device
models, viz. IBIS, BSDL, etc.
I will mention only the IBIS models.
1. When you ask for IBIS model, talk to somebody at the
factory to get data such as VI curves of the device.
2. Make sure you are familiar with the syntax/sementics
of the IBIS model language.
3. Using the supplied VI curves and othe information,
see that the IBIS model is built correctly.
It should not take long to have a pretty good idea
about the model. You will also get a sense how good/bad
the model is written.
They have improved tremendously, but, still, they are giving (prehaps
unintentionally) tough times to engineers busy doing SI.
