Do you use HSPICE simulator for both simulations (with IBIS and HSPICE models),
or you
use some other simulator with the IBIS model? The reason I ask, I think not all
simulators have the same way of handling IBIS models. In one case, I used an
IBIS model
of a true differential CML driver with no problems in SPECCTRAQuest but the
model failed
to run in HSPICE.

As to your first test fixture, I'd recommend using a load other than 50ohm.
Some IBIS
models work fine when terminated with 50ohms but break for any other loads.
This has
something to do with the way the models were generated.
