[SI-LIST] Re: IBIS Model Quality (or lack thereof)

It's actually worse than you make out.
I've had IBIS models that were not even
run through the Golden Parser and cleared of errors
before being shipped to customers.

Part of the problem is that many semiconductor vendors
have no idea how IBIS models are used. So, it's
largely a problem of education of their engineering
and (more importantly) marketing departments.

I have high hopes that the IBIS Model Validation
committee that recently had its inaugural meeting
will help turn the tide, both in terms of educating
vendors who need it and in empowering their
customers to demand a higher level of effort
in creation of IBIS models.
