[SI-LIST] Re: How to use frequency dependent inductance in Spice simul

Hi Crystal,

Please make sure that your dependence L(w) is not just a real frequency
dependent function, but a causal complex-value function, that by IFFT
makes 'proper' Dirac pulse response into time domain. If you take
j*w*L(w), your response will be an impedance Dirac pulse response, but
if you take IFFT from L(w) then your response should be the integral of
that i.e. an impedance step response, whatever you prefer. This time
domain response should not start before time zero.

Another way, if you have proper frequency domain dependence for L(w),
convert it into single port Z-parameters by Z(jw)=jw*L(w), or
S-parameters by S(jw)=inv(jwL(w)+R0)*( jwL(w)-R0). Then, use built-in
S-parameter simulation capability that is available in most simulators.

Subject: [SI-LIST] How to use frequency dependent inductance in Spice
simulation

The inductance of my model is frequency dependent. Suppose i have the
inductance value in frequency domain, how can i use it in spice
simulation? Thanks a lot!

Crystal
