[SI-LIST] Re: How to terminate the bi-directional buses?

Hello,

There are different ways to terminate a bi-directional bus.
The type of termination depends on the components you
are using (type bi-directional buffer).

Most common ones are AC-termination, Pull down-termination
and Thevenin-termination (pull-up and pull-down resistor)

To chose the correct termination, often a topology study
is necessary. Tools which we use for topology study are:
linesim, scratchpad and ICX electrical editor (all Mentor Graphics).

I have some articles about different termination strategies
on the following link. Maybe this will help

Onderwerp: [SI-LIST] How to terminate the bi-directional buses?

Hello,

I am working for the termination strategy for an embedded system board.
There are 2 flashs, 2 SDRAMs and a CPU hook on the system bus. The bus clock
is 166MHz with 1ns rise time. The bus length is up to 8 inches.
I am wondering how to terminate the data bus and bi-directional signals. Any
advice will be appreciated.
