At some point there is a line length that the losses (loss tangent and skin effect) for a 1GHz signal in FR4 material (lets say 8 mil traces) will begin to degrade the rise time. If I can choose a PAD which could drive a 3-inches long, 50 ohms transmission line and meet spec. . What if I use the same pad to drive a 15-inches long, 50 ohms transmission line?
