[SI-LIST] Re: How accurate is HSPICE's field solver?

Hassan,

I have done some of this correlation myself between HSPICE and Ansoft, as
well as with a couple of other pieces of software. Some of the work was
completed in collaboration with UMR. From version 2001.02 up to the most
recent update of HSPICE gives pretty good correlation. Earlier versions of
HSPICE showed a slightly greater variance in the L and C values. The
simulations were run up to 10GHz.

Regards,

Craig

Subject: [SI-LIST] How accurate is HSPICE's field solver?

Hi All,

Has anybody checked the accuracy of differential RLGC parameters computed by
HSPICE's
internal field solver against those computed by other full-wave field
solvers such as
Ansoft Maxwell 2D Extractor, HFSS, etc, over a broad frequency band?

Thanks.

Hassan.
