[SI-LIST] Hairpin?

Hello,

Anyone knows what is a #26 1/2" Hairpin  wire ?

This comes in some schematics. I undertand the gauge 26 and the lengh 0.5
inches (correct?)  but I don't know what does "hairpin" refers to.
