[SI-LIST] Re: Good book about jitter....

Although I'm certainly no Mike Li(Wavecrest) or Ransom
Stephens(Teraspeed Consulting LLC) in the math department..., but I
found that all of the compliance specifications along with general
working knowledge of jitter analysis methods was much easier once I
reviewed the following in my advanced statistics, Stochastic processes
books:

Density functions
Cumulative density functions
PDF's in general - uniform, gaussian, etc.,
Expected value and moments of functions
Dual-dirac formulation
Definition of stochastic process, examples
Adding processes via convolution of pdf's (this is really important for
understanding Dual-Dirac model of RJ-DJ)
Q-function
Some transformation stuff of pdf's
Autocorrelation
Variance and covariance
Examples of commonly found stochastic processes (noise)
Fourier transform of autocorrelation to get Power spectral density
Statistical significance (how many errors you need for BER work on a
channel)

I like Alberto Leon-Garcia's book "Probability and Random Processes for
Electrical Engineering" Some of the other books are more focused on the
math guys (an old version of Papoulis is nice to have also, but gets a
bit too "mathy" for practical EE's).

While not actually a 'book' (228 pages), I've found the MJSQ
specification document is a good reference for the definitions of
different jitter types, and a good overview of different measurement
methods.
