Hello SI-list, I have a question about (design) tools for Ethernet twisted pair (TWP) links. I assume that could divide this into two parts: (1) protocal analysers and (2) hardware tools. (1) protocol analysers are instruments for gathering statistics and analysis of the network or link (2) hardware tools: vector network analysers (freq. domain) and oscilloscopes-TDR (time domain) My questions: -1- if we would like to improve your understanding of high-speed twisted pair Ethernet physical link design, what would you suggest to accomplish that: methodology, design and tools??? -2- what kind of protocol analysers are available for 100MBit TWP (and above) Ethernet??? -3- what tools exist and/or do you recommend for time-domain and frequency-domain analysis?? -4- Are there software packages for oscilloscopes that help you setup the oscilloscope to measure the properties of Ethernet TWP signals?? Kind regards, Jan Vercammen ------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from si-list: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field or to administer your membership from a web page, go to: //www.freelists.org/webpage/si-list For help: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'help' in the Subject field List archives are viewable at: //www.freelists.org/archives/si-list or at our remote archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/si-list/messages Old (prior to June 6, 2001) list archives are viewable at: http://www.qsl.net/wb6tpu
