Any help?

Problem:

I want to insert a formula into excel

Using Calculator:

XL & R = 2

Tan^ -1(XL / R ) = 45 Deg.

Tan^-1 = ARC TAN

Know if I try to put it into excel, I use:

ATAN( XL / R ) =.785   I'm not getting my 45 Deg?   Can someone tell me what
I'm doing wrong?
