Hello,
I'd like to thank everyone that responded to my last message
about an 8 db difference in the S-Parameter results from SIWave compared
with the lab. In the end, the problem was determined to be the way the
connector via was modeled by the software. Ansoft is currently working
on a fix.
On another topic, has anyone used the EMPIRE software by IMST Microwave
and RF Institute? www.empire.de <http://www.empire.de/>
I've just taken a look at the features and demonstrations and it seems
to be very impressive and comparable to SIWave. It is a time domain
solver so it is many times faster than SIWave. Could anyone comment on
the software's ease of use, accuracy, PCB layout import capabilities,
cost, and the vendor's customer support? Success or failure stories
would be very helpful as well. Thank you.
