[SI-LIST] ECHO cancellation hybrid

hi all,
Can anybody plz. explain me how an Echo cancellation hybrid
works?
I want to have an Echo cancellation hybrid for ISDN BRI line.
I found one part with part number PE36005 suitable for my
application as per datasheet of my LIU.
But i can't understand how it works exactly.
Can anybody plz. explain me how does it work?
